Responsible for participation of Russia in the United Nations and other International Organizations, the International Economic, ecological and humanitarian cooperation, observance of human rights, cooperation concerning climate change, culture and sports.


Born in 1950

Graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1972.

Holds diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

Speaks English and Arabic.

Joined diplomatic service in 1972

Held various diplomatic posts in the MFA headqaters and abroad.

1972-1977 – Embassy of the USSR in Egypt.

1977-1980 – Department of the international organizations, MFA.

1980-1984 – Embassy of the USSR in Jordan.

1984-1992 – Chief of Department of the International Organizations, MFA.

1992-1997 – Permanent mission of Russian Federation to the UN.

1997-1999 – Deputy director of Department of the International Organizations, MFA.

1999-2004 – First deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN.

2004-2008 – Office of the Secretary General of the UN.

2008-2011 – Director of Department of the International Organizations, MFA.

Since January, 2011 – Deputy minister of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation.

Married, with a daughter.
